Had a Bad Day

Today’s blog is gonna be short and simple.

I had a horrible day.  It probably wouldn’t have been so bad had my energy level been at 100%.  However, due to this cold I’ve picked up from the little ones, I’m a little sluggish.

On top of that I had a fight with a friend (which, oh btw I didn’t have the energy for to begin with).  Okay, well maybe the argument was partly my fault.

Anyhow, I’m going to eat some applesauce, drink some Gatorade,  finish my homework, take some Tylenol cold/flu medicine, and go to bed.  Praying tomorrow will be better.

Good night!!

Expect the Unexpected

Today was definitely a day of random moments.

I have an itchy throat, a runny nose, sneezing, my jaws ache, and I have a slight headache…this cannot be happening.

Dear God, please don’t let it be the flu. Amen.

So I woke up this morning around 5:30 am to the pitter-patter of rain on the window (or so I thought), but I hit the snooze and rolled back over,  about 3 or 4 times.  Little did I know that pitter-patter was actually snow. Completely random!

It reads 32 degrees...that's freekin' cold!!!

The temperature in my car read 32 degrees this morning…that’s freekin’ cold!!!

No worries, free snow day.  So I immediately called UNT to see if campus was closed.  Urnht, wrong… “Good morning, this is ____, campus is open, can you hold please…” the operator said.  I  just hung up, disgruntled.

The first snowfall in December was fun, but today not so much.  Oh well, I thought,  gotta make some moves and get across Lake Lewisville bridge.   Before I could do that I remembered I had to take my youngest daughter to the doctor for a checkup at 10:30 am.

It wasn't much now, but it was just the randomness of the snow that caught me off guard.

It wasn’t much snow, it was just the randomness of the snow that caught me off guard.

After the doctor’s visit (which went surprisingly well) I dropped the two little ones off at the learning center.  I returned home, took some meds and took a two-hour nap.  When I woke up it was 4:00…O shoot!  I jumped up, raced out the door, and made it to class on time with only a minute to spare.

Racing cautiously down the icy highway to get to class on time.

Racing cautiously down the icy highway.

BTW, I think I’m gonna like this marketing class.  The professor basically told us that everyone starts off with an A and all you have to do to keep the A is show up and listen to a bunch of guest speakers. Okay, random, but cool.  I can do that. Score!!!

I guess the moral of the story is even the most unexpected days can have the sweetest endings.  “All’s well that ends well…”   And in the words of my 3 year old daughter, “…and for that buh-bye..”

O yea and thank you God, I don’t have the flu!!

Let the Countdown begin!!!

So here we are, day 1 of the first day of my last semester at the University of North Texas (UNT).  I had planned on starting a blog to commemorate this occasion, and as fate would have it my Technical Communications instructor asked us to create a blog for his class.  Perfect!!

My goal is to post at least once a day, hence the term “Dailey” (also a play on words dedicated to my 106 year old great-grandmother, Mittie Dailey).

Meet Mittie

She has always encouraged me to further my education, so I believe this blog will be a good way to honor the woman who inspires me.

I invite you to travel with me as I track my progress, vent my daily frustrations, and celebrate my success!! Put the Moet in fridge, and let the journey begin..Leggo!!!
