Today was definitely a day of random moments.
I have an itchy throat, a runny nose, sneezing, my jaws ache, and I have a slight headache…this cannot be happening.
Dear God, please don’t let it be the flu. Amen.
So I woke up this morning around 5:30 am to the pitter-patter of rain on the window (or so I thought), but I hit the snooze and rolled back over, about 3 or 4 times. Little did I know that pitter-patter was actually snow. Completely random!
The temperature in my car read 32 degrees this morning…that’s freekin’ cold!!!
No worries, free snow day. So I immediately called UNT to see if campus was closed. Urnht, wrong… “Good morning, this is ____, campus is open, can you hold please…” the operator said. I just hung up, disgruntled.
The first snowfall in December was fun, but today not so much. Oh well, I thought, gotta make some moves and get across Lake Lewisville bridge. Before I could do that I remembered I had to take my youngest daughter to the doctor for a checkup at 10:30 am.
It wasn’t much snow, it was just the randomness of the snow that caught me off guard.
After the doctor’s visit (which went surprisingly well) I dropped the two little ones off at the learning center. I returned home, took some meds and took a two-hour nap. When I woke up it was 4:00…O shoot! I jumped up, raced out the door, and made it to class on time with only a minute to spare.
Racing cautiously down the icy highway.
BTW, I think I’m gonna like this marketing class. The professor basically told us that everyone starts off with an A and all you have to do to keep the A is show up and listen to a bunch of guest speakers. Okay, random, but cool. I can do that. Score!!!
I guess the moral of the story is even the most unexpected days can have the sweetest endings. “All’s well that ends well…” And in the words of my 3 year old daughter, “…and for that buh-bye..”
O yea and thank you God, I don’t have the flu!!
